Chicago Area Students, advocates to Rauner: End budget standoff, propose solutions

WHO: Emily Miller, Director of Policy and Advocacy, Voices for Illinois Children;

WHAT: After nearly 8 months with no state budget, in a press conference the day before Gov. Rauner releases his spending plan for next year, youth and advocates will call on him to work with lawmakers to end the current years’ budget standoff. Attendees will ask the Governor and lawmakers to pass a responsible budget with new revenue to invest in children, families and communities.
