The General Assembly and Governor Rauner agreed on a six-month stopgap budget that authorizes desperately needed funding for services and institutions. Illinois Again Fails to Enact a Responsible Budget

The regular session of the General Assembly ended in failure last night as our elected officials missed yet another deadline to pass a fully-funded budget that invests in Illinois' policy priorities. This latest failure will exacerbate the already disastrous consequences of the budget impasse and must be corrected with a responsible budget that chooses revenue before FY16 ends at the end of June.
